Belgium and the United States have secured their places in the Round of 8 of the World Cup. The Belgians overturned a 2-0 deficit against Senegal in extra time, winning 3-2, while the Americans defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0, despite a player being sent off in the second half.

Belgium has come a long way

In Seattle, Senegal long believed they had secured their qualification. The Lions opened the scoring through H. Diarra in the 25th minute, before doubling their lead thanks to I. Sarr in the 51st.

Trailing 2-0, Belgium waited until the end of regulation time to respond. Romelu Lukaku reduced the deficit in the 86th minute, then Youri Tielemans equalized three minutes later, in the 89th.

The match then went into extra time. In the dying moments, Belgium were awarded a penalty. Tielemans converted it in the 120th+5 minute, securing the victory and qualification for the Red Devils.

Senegal had one last chance from a free kick after a handball by Raskin, but Pape Matar Sarr's shot went over the bar. Belgium won 3-2 after extra time. Senegal are eliminated.

The United States is doing the work against Bosnia

In the other match, the United States beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0. Folarin Balogun opened the scoring just before halftime, in the 45th minute.

The Americans were then reduced to ten men after Balogun's expulsion in the 64th minute. Despite this numerical disadvantage, they maintained their lead before securing the win late in the game.

Malik Tillman scored the second American goal in the 82nd minute. For Bosnia, S. Radeljic received a yellow card in the 81st minute.
