Frédéric Beigbeder joins RTL with a new Sunday cultural program

RTL is bolstering its fall lineup with the arrival of Frédéric Beigbeder. The writer and columnist will host a new cultural program, starting August 30th, airing every Sunday from 20 pm to 21 pm.

Surrounded by a team of commentators whose names have not yet been revealed, the author of "99 Francs" will discuss current cultural and social issues: literature, film, music, live entertainment, and debates. In a press release, RTL promises "an hour of unfiltered exchanges, critiques, and clashes of ideas," with an editorial line summarized by the slogan: "No conformist thinking allowed!"

A return to his roots for the writer

This new show will directly compete with "Le Masque et la Plume," the long-running program on France Inter broadcast in the same time slot. Frédéric Beigbeder is very familiar with this world, having himself been a commentator on the public radio program.

The 60-year-old writer is no stranger to RTL listeners. A former member of the "Grosses Têtes" panel, he also hosted a literary program on Radio Classique between 2022 and 2024. His return to RTL thus marks a reunion between the station and a media personality known for his outspokenness and his love of debate.
