British royal family: a scaled-down appearance for Easter Mass in Windsor

King Charles III attended the traditional Easter celebration at Windsor on Sunday, surrounded by several members of the royal family, in a highly anticipated appearance. This outing comes amid the absence of Prince Andrew, who has recently been embroiled in a legal case.

Alongside the monarch and Queen Camilla were Prince William, his wife Catherine and their children, as well as Princess Anne and Prince Edward. The ceremony took place at St. George's Chapel, before a large crowd of onlookers who had come to greet the royal family.

The Princess of Wales made a notable appearance

Catherine's participation was one of the highlights of this mass, following her cancer diagnosis announced in 2024. Smiling, she took part in this symbolic ceremony, greeting the crowd alongside her husband and their children.

Several family members were absent, notably Prince Andrew and his close associates, who have largely withdrawn from public life. This scaled-down appearance reflects a desire to project an image centered on the core figures of the monarchy, amidst internal tensions.
