A new legal twist has shaken the Patrick Bruel case. The singer is to appear before three investigating judges this Wednesday for formal charges of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment involving nine complainants. The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between 2010 and 2019. The Nanterre prosecutor's office also requested that he be placed in pre-trial detention.
This comes as another woman has recently come forward with accusations against the artist. The 46-year-old actress claims she was the victim of an attempted rape in 2000, when she was only 19. According to her account, relayed by her lawyer, she was invited to the singer's Paris home after a music video shoot but managed to escape. She decided to take legal action today, explaining that she wants to support the other complainants.
Patrick Bruel denies all the charges against him and benefits from the presumption of innocence. The judges' decision regarding his indictment and possible detention is now eagerly awaited.
