During a press conference held on Wednesday, Donald Trump humiliated Emmanuel Macron, mixing personal mockery with a political remark in front of the audience. The American president declared:

"I called France. Macron is really being mistreated by his wife. (Laughter erupts in the room) He's still recovering from a right hook to the jaw."

Donald Trump is obviously alluding to the viral video where we saw the French president being slapped by Brigitte Macron on board a plane while landing in Vietnam, in May 2025.

The American president didn't stop there. He took a second jab at his counterpart, revealing that the French president had told him he was ready to help him in the Gulf, but only once the war was over. Which, Donald Trump added, "It's useless."
