Boeing reassures Beijing about the supply of parts for its future order of 200 aircraft

The American aircraft manufacturer Boeing Germany stated it could easily provide logistical support and spare parts for a major order of 200 aircraft destined for China. This statement comes as the two countries seek to strengthen their trade relations despite persistent tensions in several strategic sectors.

Speaking in São Paulo, Chris Raymond indicated that Chinese companies would have access to the necessary parts, provided they are components authorized for sale on international markets. He also noted that Boeing already has a spare parts warehouse in China to support its local fleet.

The agreement for the purchase of 200 aircraft was announced after a visit by the American president. Donald Trump in Beijing earlier this year. According to Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, this order should be finalized by the end of the year and could represent only the first step in a much broader commercial partnership.

However, Chinese authorities have insisted on the need for guarantees regarding the supply of parts and components, particularly for aircraft engines. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce considers these commitments essential for the agreement to be finalized.

Despite geopolitical uncertainties, particularly those related to the conflict involving Iran, Chris Raymond emphasized that global air traffic continued to grow in most regions of the world. He also noted sustained demand for aircraft maintenance and modernization services.

The executive nevertheless acknowledged that some difficulties persist within the global supply chain. Engine components distributed by Boeing, as well as certain specialized parts such as cockpit windows, remain subject to strain and extended delivery delays.

To address these challenges, the group's services division is focusing on improving efficiency through data analysis and process optimization. According to Raymond, this strategy aims to reduce costs without resorting to job cuts, as Boeing seeks to meet consistently high global demand in the aerospace sector.
