A 37-year-old woman was found dead Monday evening in Sarreguemines, Moselle. Her partner was taken into custody after turning himself in at the police station, where he confessed to strangling the victim, according to information released by the prosecutor's office.
The man turned himself in to police that evening and confessed to the crime. Law enforcement then opened an investigation and took him into custody. The prosecutor's office indicated that he was being prosecuted as part of an investigation for the murder of a spouse or partner.
An investigation has been opened into the possibility of a domestic murder.
