Seine-Saint-Denis: A cache of weapons seized from a man already known for illegal possession of firearms

A man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Grasse, in the Alpes-Maritimes region. The incident occurred shortly before 19 p.m. in a residential area on Avenue Sidi Brahim, where several shots were reported by residents. The victim was inside a vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Upon arrival, police officers discovered multiple bullet holes inside the vehicle. The young man, who had been shot in the back, did not survive his injuries. A second person in the vehicle was treated by paramedics, but their condition has not yet been specified.

The theory of a targeted attack is favored.

Initial findings by investigators point to a deliberate and premeditated attack. Witness statements and the pattern of the impacts suggest that the vehicle was intentionally targeted. Specialized units, including forensic identification, have been mobilized to conduct technical investigations and initial cross-checks.

The public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the shooting and identify the perpetrators. Local authorities were immediately informed, and the investigation continues to establish a motive and reconstruct the precise sequence of events.
