A strong earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on Friday, AFP journalists reported in Kabul and Nangarhar province. The tremor was felt in several areas of the country, causing concern among residents.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake reached a magnitude of 5,8. Its epicenter was located approximately 130 kilometers northeast of the Afghan capital.
