Valérie Bègue, Miss France 2008, reacted on Instagram to the rape allegations against Patrick Bruel. In a comment, she stated that Patrick Bruel was the president of the jury during her election, and that the victims should be believed.

She writes: "He was the president of the jury during my election. I saw him. I have absolutely no doubt. I believe all the women who had the courage to speak out, and I encourage the others. I saw him."

Valérie Bègue does not give any further details in this message about what she claims to have seen.

Complaints against Patrick Bruel are piling up.

This statement follows numerous accusations of rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault against Patrick Bruel. Eight complaints and one report have been filed in France, Belgium, and Canada. Three investigations are underway, notably in Paris, Saint-Malo, and Brussels. Patrick Bruel denies the accusations against him and is presumed innocent. 

Among the women who spoke out was Flavie Flament. The television presenter and journalist filed a rape complaint against Patrick Bruel for events she places in 1991, when she was 16 years old. She claims she was assaulted in the singer's Paris apartment after having tea, and then had a... "blackout"Patrick Bruel denies these accusations; his lawyers claim that he did not "never drugged" and did not force "any sexual relations" on him. 

Other complaints also target Patrick Bruel. Daniela Elstner, director general of Unifrance, filed a complaint for attempted rape and sexual assault for events she places in 1997, during the Acapulco French Film Festival in Mexico. Another investigation concerns a rape complaint filed in Saint-Malo, for alleged events that occurred in 2012 on the sidelines of the Dinard British Film Festival, where Patrick Bruel was president of the jury. 

In Belgium, press officer Karine Viseur also filed a complaint for sexual assault concerning alleged events dating back to 2010 at the RTBF (Belgian French-language public broadcaster). She accuses Patrick Bruel of unwanted touching and forced gestures. The singer denies all the accusations and maintains that he did not "Never forced a woman." 

Valérie Bègue's comment, while not constituting proof, raises many questions and casts even more disgrace on the singer…
