Presidential election 2027: the first campaign debate will be held at Roland-Garros in front of 20,000 business leaders

The first major debate of the 2027 presidential campaign will take place on August 27th on the Philippe-Chatrier court at Roland-Garros, during the Rencontre des entrepreneurs de France (Meeting of French Entrepreneurs), the Medef's summer school. According to RTL, Gabriel Attal, Bruno Retailleau, Édouard Philippe, Raphaël Glucksmann, and Jean-Luc Mélenchon have already confirmed their participation, while Marine Le Pen was also invited.

Candidates facing the expectations of the economic world

Organized before nearly 20,000 business leaders, this debate will be based on a survey conducted by the Medef (French Business Confederation) with OpinionWay among 66,000 executives. Discussions will focus on business competitiveness, employment, taxation, and the ecological transition, with the aim of confronting the candidates with the expectations of the business world.

This meeting will mark the true launch of the 2027 presidential campaign. Some candidates are also expected to defend their emblematic proposals, like Édouard Philippe, who is expected to discuss his plan to gradually raise the legal retirement age to 67.
