Hélène de Fougerolles reveals the illness from which Bruno Salomone suffered
While the precise circumstances of Bruno Salomone's death were not immediately detailed, actress Hélène de Fougerolles spoke for the first time about the reasons for his passing in an interview given to Paris Match.
She explains that the actor had been battling for several years against a cancer, an illness he had chosen to keep very discreet. “We were expecting him to leave. I knew he was ill. Two or three years ago, during a dinner, he confessed to me: ‘You know, I had cancer.’”, the actress confides.
According to her, the illness had recently resurfaced: "And then last September, I learned from someone else that his cancer had returned, but Bruno didn't want the news to spread."
The actor was very discreet about his health and refused to have his illness publicized.
"Bruno was very private; he didn't want people to feel sorry for him. So in September, he couldn't film anymore because he had to fight his illness."
Hélène de Fougerolles also mentions their last exchange, a few weeks before her disappearance: “In my last message, I wrote to her: “A little Saturday thought with southern sunshine, I send you a kiss.” He replied to me: “Thank you, I will fight.”
