Hundreds of forest fires broke out simultaneously in the three countries. Strong winds accompanying the heatwave are fueling the blazes and complicating firefighting operations, which have been underway for several days.
In Algeria, the town of Sour El-Ghozlane is among the localities affected by the fires. The situation remains under close observation in all the affected regions, where authorities have deployed air and ground resources to try to contain the blazes.
