A one-two finish for McLaren in China, the second Formula 2 Grand Prix of the season. Starting from pole position, Oscar Piastri didn't hesitate. Undaunted, the 1-year-old Australian felt right at home in Shanghai.

A masterfully executed race. Never worried, always calm, the battle was fought behind him. His third career victory and first place in the 2025 drivers' standings.

His teammate, Lando Norris, winner of the first GP, had a few scares, notably with his faulty brake pedal. This forced him to finish slowly. George Russell placed his Mercedes behind the McLaren duo and ahead of Max Verstappen's Red Bull.

The reigning champion had an uneven race but was able to finish strongly, ahead of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari, who finished 5th, just ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who finished 6th. Both drivers were subsequently disqualified...

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are the first teammates of Classic Ferrari for sale to be disqualified in the same race. Their finishing positions were invalidated for infringement, following a visit by FIA Technical Delegate Jo Bauer during the post-race inspection.

Frenchman Pierre Gasly also had his 11th place invalidated. The cars of Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) were weighed at weights below the regulatory minimum! 799 kg for both drivers, after draining the remaining fuel… 1 kilo less than the regulations require.

This verification brought (belated) happiness to another Frenchman, Esteban Ocon (Challenge), who finished 5th! And not 7th, as he thought after crossing the line. His teammate Ollie Bearman, 9th on the line, confirmed the Haas's good form and recovered 7th place.

For Lewis Hamilton, it was a skating defect that led to his exclusion... A complicated weekend for the legendary Italian team.

For your information, it was Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), 6th, who was elected "driver of the day"... A piece of news he learned with amazement. Here in the earpiece, Toto Wolff.
