The Paris and Île-de-France Pride March will finally take place on Saturday, October 3rd. Inter-LGBT, the association organizing the event, announced this new date after several weeks of uncertainty. The demonstration was originally scheduled for June 27th.
The event had been cancelled the day before it was scheduled due to the heatwave then affecting the capital. The police prefecture had requested the postponement of several large outdoor gatherings, as the high temperatures raised concerns about heat exhaustion, dehydration, and increased strain on emergency services. Inter-LGBT prioritized the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff.
The route still needs to be finalized.
The initial route was to connect Place d'Italie to Place de la République, passing through Avenue des Gobelins, Rue Monge, Boulevard Saint-Germain, and Place de la Bastille. Organizers have yet to confirm whether this route and the times planned for June will be maintained for the march on October 3rd. Further practical information will be released before the event.
The Paris Pride March usually brings together several hundred thousand people, as well as numerous associations, businesses, and labor unions. Beyond its festive nature, it carries demands for equal rights and against discrimination targeting LGBT+ people. The 2026 edition will therefore be able to take place a little over three months after the originally scheduled date. Inter-LGBT
