American actor Eric Dane, known particularly for his roles in Grey's Anatomy et Euphoria, died on February 19 at the age of 53 after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease.

Shortly before his death in November 2025, Eric Dane recorded an exclusive interview for the series Netflix Famous Last Words which he knew would never be broadcast during his lifetime. This interview, published after his death, contains a personal message addressed to the whole world and, above all, to his two daughters, Billie Beatrice Dane (15 years old) and Georgia Geraldine Dane (14 years old), whom he had with actress Rebecca Gayheart.

An interview filmed with full awareness of the facts

In this lengthy interview filmed last November with producer and director Brad Falchuk, Eric Dane spoke candidly about his life, his career, and his battle with ALS. He described his state of mind, his sensitivity, the loneliness he sometimes felt even when surrounded by people, and his love for his family. Aware of the disease's progression, he chose to share his most intimate thoughts with the world through this posthumous interview.

The series Netflix Famous Last WordIt was designed so that prominent figures could express themselves one last time, leaving a profound testimony about their lives and values, with the promise that these testimonies would only be broadcast after their death. Eric Dane agreed that his episode would only be shown at that time, knowing that he would no longer be able to speak or testify once he died.

Words of love and advice for his daughters

In the final moments of the interview, when he finds himself facing the camera alone, Eric Dane addresses a direct and deeply personal message to his daughters. He begins by saying: “Billie and Georgia, these words are for you.” He then reminisces about family memories, including moments spent together at the beach, and shares four major lessons from his life:

To live fully in the present, without regrets about the past or anxiety about the future. To fall in love, not just with a person, but above all with a passion or a purpose that gives meaning to one's life. To choose one's friends carefully, valuing authentic and caring relationships. To face difficulties with dignity, especially illness, never letting one's spirit be crushed.

In his final words, he confided: “I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall we had a blast, didn’t we?”then concluded: “Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”
