A birthday party hosted by Karine Le Marchand at her property near Aix-en-Provence turned into a neighborhood dispute. The M6 presenter, who celebrated her 58th birthday on August 16th at the Domaine des Belles Âmes, claims that a man entered her property during the evening and threatened to cut off the electricity if the music continued after 22 p.m. Several neighbors offer a different version of events and complain of significant noise disturbances. Karine Le Marchand, for her part, maintains that she organized a party and considers the complaints disproportionate. The presenter, who recently extended her contract with M6 until 2029 , finally addressed the incident publicly on her social media accounts, using particularly direct language.
A birthday party that annoys some of the neighbors
On August 16, Karine Le Marchand had gathered several close friends and family at her Provençal property to celebrate her birthday. A DJ had been hired to provide music, and some neighbors had also been invited to the party. According to one of the neighbors, the problem began early in the evening. He stated that the Domaine des Belles Âmes is not isolated and that several houses are located nearby. According to his account, the music was played very loudly starting around 20 p.m.
The neighbor claims that several residents were disturbed and that some tried to contact the police. He states that "at least three people called the police ," while specifying that, to his knowledge, no officers responded. Two or three neighbors also reportedly went to the property entrance. Karine Le Marchand provides a significantly different timeline. She maintains that she organized only one large party during the year and states that it began at 19:30 p.m. and ended at 23:30 p.m.
Karine Le Marchand claims that a man entered her kitchen
The most serious incident reportedly occurred shortly before 21 p.m. Karine Le Marchand recounts that her bodyguard alerted her to the presence of someone inside her home. "It was 20:57 p.m. when suddenly, my bodyguard told me, 'There's someone in your kitchen.'" The television presenter then referred to it as a "break-in" and stated that the man present declared, "I'm an electrician; if there's any noise at 22 p.m., I'll cut off your electricity."
The characterization of the incident as "breaking and entering" is disputed by a neighbor. According to him, the man, described as a retiree of about 70, simply entered through an open gate to ask for the music to be turned down. He therefore denies any forced entry onto the property. The two versions thus diverge on a central point: Karine Le Marchand believes that this man had no business being on her property, while other residents explain that he simply wanted to stop the noise.
"If someone wants to sleep with the windows open, that's not my problem."
After the incident, Karine Le Marchand made no secret of her annoyance. The presenter of "L'amour est dans le pré" (Love is in the Meadow) , whose 21st season is currently airing on M6 , believes that the noise from an annual celebration doesn't justify such a reaction. She explained: "If the guy who lives over there, in the distant valley, has bad windows or wants to sleep with them open and hear a little noise, that's not my problem."
The presenter also emphasized the absence, in her view, of any official report filed during the evening: "There was no report, I didn't receive any statement, I didn't get any calls. I don't see how throwing a party once a year makes me a bad person with no value." Karine Le Marchand therefore maintains that no official intervention occurred to report any disturbance during the party.
"I'm going to get him."
The presenter went even further when she mentioned the neighbor she accuses of trespassing. Describing the man as a retired electrician, she declared, "I think we can find him: a retired electrician living there, I'm going to get him." She also warned that a new complaint filed against her at her next annual party could elicit a response: "The neighbor should start preparing his complaint for next year on August 16th, because there's a good chance I'll file one."
The neighbors also mention more frequent disturbances.
The dispute, however, is not solely about the August 16th anniversary. A local resident claims that the property regularly hosts activities, including yoga retreats, and that some of these are also accompanied by music.
“Every weekend, she organizes yoga retreats, and on weekends when they don’t have headphones, there’s music playing on speakers ,” claims this neighbor, who believes the property’s elevated position facilitates sound transmission down into the valley. This assertion comes from the neighbors and has not been officially documented or made public.
For several years, Karine Le Marchand has presented Domaine des Belles Âmes as a place dedicated to well-being and rejuvenation. The presenter divides her time between her personal activities and a continued strong presence on M6, where she is once again supporting the contestants of L'amour est dans le pré (Love is in the Meadow) this season.
Two completely opposing versions of the evening
On one side, several neighbors describe an evening noisy enough to prompt calls to the police and residents to come to the gate. On the other, Karine Le Marchand asserts her right to hold an annual party, points out that no report was filed, and primarily accuses a man of trespassing on her property to enter her house.
The feud has now become public following the presenter's highly offensive statements on Instagram . This is yet another controversy for Karine Le Marchand, who is already accustomed to responding directly when she finds herself at the center of criticism . One thing is certain: after her birthday on August 16th, the atmosphere is decidedly less festive between the presenter and some of her neighbors.
