Ferran Torres signs with PSG until 2031
PSG have officially announced the arrival of the Spanish striker on a long-term contract. Ferran Torres is now tied to the Parisian club until 2031 and will wear the number 9 shirt. Born on February 29, 2000, in Foios, Spain, Ferran Torres came through the youth ranks at Valencia CF, which he joined at the age of 7. He made his La Liga debut in December 2017 against Eibar. With Valencia, he played 97 matches and quickly established himself as one of the brightest prospects in Spanish football. He notably won the Copa del Rey in 2019.
From Manchester City to FC Barcelona
His performances in Spain opened the doors to Manchester City in 2020. Under Pep Guardiola, Ferran Torres scored his first goal for the Citizens in the League Cup against Burnley, just days after his Premier League debut. With Manchester City, he helped the club reach the Champions League final in 2021 and also won the Premier League and the League Cup. His record with the English club stands at 43 matches, 16 goals, and 4 assists. In January 2022, the Spaniard returned to La Liga, joining FC Barcelona.
207 matches and 65 goals with Barça
Wearing the Blaugrana jersey, Ferran Torres gradually established himself as a key player in the Catalan attack. In four and a half years, he played 207 matches and scored 65 goals. He notably played a decisive role in the 2025 Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, scoring the goal that forced extra time for Barça. His time in Barcelona allowed him to significantly enhance his trophy collection. Ferran Torres leaves Catalonia with three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.
World champion 2026 with Spain
Ferran Torres also arrives in Paris with a significant international reputation. After winning the U17 European Championship in 2017 and the U19 European Championship in 2019, he made his debut for the Spanish national team in 2020 under Luis Enrique. He then played in Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup before winning the Nations League in 2023. In 2024, he secured his first major international title by winning the European Championship with La Roja. The summer of 2026 saw him add the World Cup to his list of achievements. In the final against Argentina, Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the match during extra time, giving Spain their second World Cup title. He was also named man of the match.
