Low-income workers who regularly use their vehicles for work have an extra month to apply for the fuel allowance. Originally set for July 30th, the deadline for submitting applications has been extended to August 31st, 2026.

This €100 subsidy was announced by the government in response to rising fuel prices caused by the war in the Middle East. Its amount was initially to be limited to €50 before being doubled in May.

Aid reserved for low-income households

To qualify, the reference tax income per share must be less than or equal to €16,880. Applicants must also travel at least 15 kilometers to reach their place of work, i.e., 30 kilometers round trip, or travel more than 8,000 kilometers per year as part of their professional activity.

Eligible individuals can submit their application using the form available on the impots.gouv.fr website. According to the government, this compensation corresponds on average to a reduction of approximately 20 cents per liter of fuel.
