A new twist has emerged in the case involving the Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr. While several media outlets had mentioned the existence of legal proceedings initiated by a former employee of the player, the person in question finally spoke out to publicly contest these reports.

Initially, several Brazilian media outlets claimed that the former Paris Saint-Germain striker, now a player for Santos Futebol Clube, was the subject of a complaint for violation of labor law filed by his former personal cook.

However, the situation changed after the public intervention of the former employee, who claims that the information being disseminated does not correspond to reality.

"I have never filed a lawsuit." Marcela Lermy Mingorance's clear denial

In a message posted on her Instagram account, former cook Marcela Lermy Mingorance wanted to clarify the situation and put an end to the rumors about her.

"I have never filed a lawsuit for violation of labor law nor taken any legal action against him or anyone connected to him."Marcela Lermy Mingorance said.

In the same post, she also reiterated the nature of her professional relationship with the Brazilian star. According to her, her experience working with Neymar Jr. was conducted in a respectful manner.

"Faced with the circulation of false information involving my name, I wish to clarify things: I worked for the athlete Neymar Jr. between 2013 and 2018, always maintaining a professional relationship based on respect and ethics.", explained Marcela Lermy Mingorance.

Initial accusations of demanding working conditions

Prior to this denial, several press articles had nevertheless mentioned accusations concerning the working conditions of the football star's staff. These publications claimed that Marcela Lermy Mingorance criticized the Brazilian player for working particularly long days, sometimes up to 14 hours.

Some reports also indicated that the former cook had been required to perform physically demanding tasks as part of her job.

In these same publications, there was also talk of a possible claim for compensation estimated at around 262,000 reais, or nearly 43,000 euros, in the context of a procedure that had been initiated before the labor court.

These elements have circulated widely on social media and in several sports media outlets, contributing to amplifying the controversy surrounding the Brazilian player.

A "false information" according to the former employee

In her public statement, Marcela Lermy Mingorance maintains that these accusations are unfounded. She explains that the controversy stems from a post on an Instagram profile that used her identity without permission.

“On March 6, 2026, a profile on this platform (Instagram) published information using my image in a misleading way, associating my name with an alleged lawsuit for labor law violations that does not exist. This information is false.”, wrote Marcela Lermy Mingorance.

She also specifies that legal steps have already been taken to have the content in question removed and to identify the people responsible for disseminating this information.

"Legal measures are already underway to remove the content and hold those involved accountable.", concluded Marcela Lermy Mingorance.

The question now is how this information got out. Did the star's former cook really never sue the footballer over his working conditions, or was she paid to keep quiet and extinguish the flames, which is common in these kinds of cases? The answer lies with the two protagonists in this affair…
