A surprise guest at the first of Théodora's four concerts at the Zénith in Paris this Sunday, Gims made his first public appearance since being charged last Friday with aggravated money laundering.
The artist joined Théodora mid-evening to perform their duet SPA, to the cheers of the audience. Speaking briefly, he said it made him "Heartwarming" to be there "especially", a phrase that seems to echo the legal context of recent days.
Son arrested at Roissy
Gims was arrested on Wednesday, March 25, upon his arrival at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, and then taken into custody as part of an investigation being conducted by the national anti-organized crime prosecutor's office. After 48 hours in custody, he was formally charged on Friday, March 27, notably with "aggravated money laundering," before being released under judicial supervision, with the obligation to pay bail.
This procedure follows a wider investigation into an international money laundering network that has been under investigation by the French justice system since 2023. Fifteen people had already been charged in this case by March 27, including five who were detained, for a fraud scheme estimated at 319 million euros over the period 2019-2025.
