Photos from her childhood: Eva Ionesco relaunches her legal battle against Emmanuel Pierrat

Eva Ionesco has filed a civil suit against lawyer Emmanuel Pierrat, whom she accuses of possessing and concealing pornographic photographs taken when she was a child. The case has been forwarded to the Paris public prosecutor's office by her lawyers, Lisa Gordet and Benjamin Chouai. The 61-year-old author has been trying for decades to prevent the preservation, exhibition, and sale of these photographs taken by her mother, photographer Irina Ionesco.

Emmanuel Pierrat, a close associate of Irina Ionesco and tasked with executing her will after her death in 2022, allegedly obtained several photographs despite court orders intended to limit their dissemination, according to the complaint. Eva Ionesco accuses him of displaying them in his office, distributing them without her consent, and discreetly offering them for sale. Contacted by AFP, the lawyer did not respond to these accusations and remains presumed innocent.

The initial complaint was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

A simple complaint had already been dismissed at the beginning of May, as the evidence gathered was deemed insufficient. Eva Ionesco regrets, however, that no search was conducted at the lawyer's office to look for the photographs. She also claims she had to intervene urgently to prevent another auction scheduled for later that month.

Her lawyers present this new procedure as the only way to seize the photographs and stop their circulation. Photographed by her mother between the ages of four and eleven, Eva Ionesco has long denounced the psychological and public consequences of this exposure. The court will now have to determine whether Emmanuel Pierrat actually possesses these images and whether the offenses alleged in the complaint can be substantiated.
