Jacques Moretti faces another legal battle. The owner and manager of the Constellation hotel, already at the center of the investigation into the deadly fire in Crans-Montana, has been placed in pretrial detention following alleged violence against his wife, Jessica Moretti. The incident reportedly occurred on the night of August 11-12 at the couple's home in Valais. Jessica Moretti was injured and hospitalized. The exact circumstances of that night are still under investigation. Jacques Moretti was arrested and placed in pretrial detention. The precise nature of his wife's injuries has not been disclosed. Her current state of health is also unknown, and it has not been specified whether she has since been released from the hospital.

Alleged violence serious enough to warrant hospitalization

The information released to the public indicates alleged physical violence that resulted in injuries requiring hospitalization for Jessica Moretti. The exact legal classification of the charges in this new case has not yet been made public.

The lawyers for the Moretti couple, Yaël Hayat, Nicola Meier, and Patrick Michod, reacted on Sunday. They confirmed the existence of a separate legal proceeding but declined to comment on the allegations against Jacques Moretti. "These allegations, being investigated within a separate procedure, pertain exclusively to their private life, and therefore we will not comment ," they stated. The couple's lawyers also asked that this case not be confused with the Constellation affair. They did, however, mention "a particularly intense ordeal" that Jacques and Jessica Moretti have been trying to face together since January 1st. The lawyers now believe that "privacy must be restored . "

Jacques Moretti back behind bars

This is Jacques Moretti's second time in pretrial detention since the beginning of the year. A few days after the Constellation fire, he was already imprisoned as part of the investigation into the disaster before being released after posting bail of 200,000 Swiss francs, or approximately 215,000 euros. The manager has since been subject to various restraining measures. His latest detention relates to a completely different case, opened following events that occurred at his home on the night of August 11-12.
