Katy Perry denounces the use of her song in a White House military video

Singer Katy Perry has publicly condemned the Trump administration after the White House released a video of US military strikes against Iranian targets on TikTok, accompanied by her hit song Firework, without her permission.

The video, posted on the White House's TikTok account, shows a missile striking an Iranian warship to the tune of "Firework," one of Katy Perry's biggest hits. The caption accompanying the post is concise: "Iran has been warned." The video has garnered over 6 million views.

The singer reacted strongly, declaring herself "deeply outraged" by this use of her music. She clarified that she had never given her consent for her work to be associated with images of military strikes or a message of that nature.

This case is part of a context of tensions between the Trump administration and several artists who have, in the past, denounced the unauthorized use of their songs for political or military purposes.
