France 2 launches its new major political program dedicated to the presidential election this Sunday. For the first episode of "Franc-jeu," Benjamin Duhamel will interview Laurent Nuñez at 13:20 pm, in a context where security, immigration, and deportation orders are playing an increasingly prominent role in the campaign.
The new program will be broadcast simultaneously on France 2 and France Inter . Its stated objective is to question "those who participate in the choices offered to the French people for the future of the country."
The choice of Laurent Nuñez to inaugurate the program is not insignificant. Security and immigration are central to the presidential election, particularly under pressure from the National Rally and Bruno Retailleau. The Minister of the Interior will also debate with the national coordinator of La France Insoumise, Manuel Bompard.
An interview to watch after several controversies
Laurent Nuñez could notably be questioned on the execution of orders to leave French territory, the resources of the police or the responsibility of the State after several recent news items.
His tenure will also be politically observed, as several right-wing and RN officials regularly criticize the security record of successive governments.
With the presidential election just a few months away, "Franc-jeu" should now become one of the Sunday appointments where candidates and political leaders will seek to produce their campaign soundbites.
