Emmanuel Macron will host Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Paris on Sunday, August 23 and Monday, August 24. This official visit will focus on strengthening relations between France and Saudi Arabia, as well as addressing the numerous crises currently affecting the Middle East.
The Saudi leader will attend the closing ceremony of the Esports World Cup on Sunday, the first time it has been held outside Saudi Arabia. The presence of both officials at this event is intended to demonstrate their commitment to developing Franco-Saudi cooperation in the fields of sports, culture, and entertainment.
A first strategic partnership council
Emmanuel Macron and Mohammed bin Salman will then co-chair the first meeting of the Franco-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council. Discussions will focus on economic relations between the two countries as well as their cooperation in energy, aerospace, defense, and investment.
The two leaders will also discuss key regional issues, as tensions remain particularly high in Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen. Paris aims to strengthen its coordination with the Gulf monarchies to promote stability, maritime security, and the search for diplomatic solutions in the Near and Middle East.
