MaPrimeRénov' has been tightened again since September 1st. The public scheme dedicated to energy renovation retains its two pathways, the "large-scale renovation", intended for projects allowing gains of at least two energy classes, and the "step-by-step" renovation, which until now financed interventions carried out separately.
For major renovations, financial assistance is no longer available if the property retains gas heating after the work is completed. This restriction is part of the government's policy to promote the electrification of housing. Affected homeowners will therefore need to replace their gas heating system to make their project eligible for the program.
The journey by gesture is greatly reduced
The change is most significant for the "step-by-step" approach, which accounts for over 60% of applications. The installation of heat pumps, ventilation systems, heating equipment, or domestic hot water production systems is no longer eligible for funding, even when this equipment is powered by solar energy or biomass. Thermal insulation work, such as window replacement or roof and attic insulation, is also excluded.
These projects can still benefit from energy savings certificates, financed by energy suppliers. Households wishing to undertake renovations should check their eligibility before signing a quote or starting work. The official France Rénov' portal allows users to view the programs still available and contact an advisor to develop a suitable financing plan.
