Journalist Xenia Fedorova, accused of being "pro-Putin," is the subject of an expulsion order from French territory.

The journalist and columnist for CNEWS and Europe1 Xenia FedorovaThe former director of RT France, is the subject of a ministerial deportation order issued by the Ministry of the Interior. The information, revealed by Libération, was confirmed by the ministry to AFP.

In the document served on her lawyer, the authorities argue that the behavior of the former head of the Russian state broadcaster "undermines the fundamental interests of the State." The ministry also considers her presence on French territory to constitute "a particularly serious and current threat to public order."

The stated reasons are based in particular on Xenia Fedorova's public stances. According to the order, the columnist allegedly became "a conduit for disinformation campaigns orchestrated by the Russian authorities," by disseminating stories favorable to the Kremlin which, according to the government, could contribute to the destabilization of public order in France.

A regular guest on several French radio and television channels, Xenia Fedorova is a well-known media figure since the closure of RT France, whose activities ceased following European sanctions against Russian state media after the invasion of theUkraine.

This deportation procedure marks a new stage in the fight waged by French authorities against influence operations and disinformation campaigns attributed to Russia. At this stage, the legal avenues available to Xenia Fedorova have not yet been specified.
