Life insurance premiums paid into policies reached €18,8 billion in July 2026, a record for that time of year. Premiums increased by 1% compared to July 2025, when the previous peak was €18,7 billion.
At the same time, withdrawals and benefits totaled €14,1 billion, up 4% year-on-year. Net inflows therefore remain positive at €4,7 billion, even though they are down by €400 million compared to the same month in 2025.
Unit-linked accounts are attracting more and more people.
Investments in unit-linked funds, where capital is not guaranteed, saw a 5% increase in contributions, while payments into euro funds decreased by 2%. Unit-linked funds accounted for 42% of deposits in July and 40% since the beginning of the year.
Between January and July 2026, premiums reached €127,8 billion and net inflows €41,3 billion. The total outstanding amount of life insurance now stands at €2,174 billion, an increase of 6,3% year-on-year, confirming the considerable weight of this investment in French household savings.
