The two spectators, aged 70 and 78, died during the year-end tournament featuring the eight best players of the season. The first spectator collapsed in the morning in the Fan Village, while the second fell ill in the stands during the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti and American Taylor Fritz. Emergency services responded quickly and attempted resuscitation at the scene. Both men were then transported to the hospital in critical condition, but died shortly after being admitted.
