The Inalpi Arena was the scene of a terrible tragedy on the second day of the ATP Finals in Turin. Two spectators lost their lives in circumstances that are still partially clear, leaving organizers, players, and the public in shock. According to initial reports, the tragedy occurred on the sidelines of the matches, when the arena was very crowded.
Two deaths at the same time: a rare coincidence
The two spectators, aged 70 and 78, died during the year-end tournament featuring the eight best players of the season. The first spectator collapsed in the morning in the Fan Village, while the second fell ill in the stands during the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti and American Taylor Fritz. Emergency services responded quickly and attempted resuscitation at the scene. Both men were then transported to the hospital in critical condition, but died shortly after being admitted.
