South Korean internet group Naver will develop large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructures, in collaboration with Nvidia, in order to meet the growing global demand for AI services and so-called “physical AI” applications.
According to announcements relayed on Monday, these facilities will be designed on a gigawatt scale, a power level that reflects the energy and computing power required to train and operate advanced AI models.
The project is part of Naver's strategy to strengthen its position in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem, while relying on the technologies of Nvidia, a world leader in graphics processors used for AI.
These “AI factories” are not traditional factories, but massive data centers optimized for high-performance computing. They enable, in particular, the development of linguistic models, industrial AI systems, and large-scale robotic applications.
This announcement comes amid intense global competition around AI infrastructure, where major technology companies are seeking to secure ever-increasing computing capacity to support the sector's rapid growth.
