TV host and producer Laurent Ruquier shared a touching message on Instagram in tribute to Isabelle Mergault, praising both the artist and the long-time friend.
In his statement, Laurent Ruquier spoke of their close relationship, their disagreements, but above all, the unwavering bond that united them. He also announced an upcoming tribute on the iconic show. The Big Heads, of which Isabelle Mergault was an essential figure, alongside Philippe Bouvard in particular.
Here is the message he posted:
"Goodbye Isabelle"
I am writing this because I want you to know again how much we love you.
I know that, like me, you don't like running around on TV sets when someone you love leaves. Everyone does what they want, what they can.
We will therefore pay tribute to you at Big heads Next Monday, as it should be, because apart from your successes in theatre and cinema, it is also where you were born. The Big Heads They belong to Philippe Bouvard, to me for eleven years, but also to you for more than thirty years, and that's where we can best talk about you.
We laughed so much together that even between my tears, I can still hear our laughter, I can still hear your inimitable voice. We shared so much together, both in front of cameras and microphones and off, simply as friends. We loved each other, argued, loved each other again, argued again, and loved each other again… because for over three decades, we both understood that what connected us went far beyond laughter, makeup, and applause. You are the funniest and most vulnerable woman I have ever met. When you received your César for your film I think you are very handsomeI was so proud and happy for you. I think you're very beautiful.
