Actress, director, and columnist Isabelle Mergault died this Friday at the age of 67, her family announced in a statement. She passed away from cancer.
A popular figure in the French audiovisual landscape, Isabelle Mergault first became known to the general public in the 1980s and 1990s, notably through her roles in film and television. She then made a name for herself by moving behind the camera, with successful films such as I think you are very handsome (2005), which had met with a wide audience.
But it was also on the radio that she established herself as an essential figure. An emblematic member of the program The Big Heads On RTL, she was appreciated for her frank humor, her strong character and her spontaneity, which made her one of the most recognizable voices on the program.
