The Israeli army announced on Saturday the death of one of its soldiers during the ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip. This is the first soldier killed since the resumption of attacks and the collapse of the ceasefire with the Hamas movement on March 18, according to a report by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The army said that Staff Sergeant Ghaleb Suleiman Al-Nassasrah, 35, was killed "during clashes in the northern Gaza Strip," adding that three other soldiers were wounded in the same fighting, including two women.
Since the start of the Israeli army's ground offensive in the Palestinian enclave on October 27, 2023, 412 Israeli soldiers have been killed.
The war in Gaza was triggered by an unprecedented attack by Hamas against Israel on October 7 of that year.
