The French furniture retailer Alinéa has been acquired by MH France, a subsidiary of the Chinese group Aosom, after receiving court approval. Placed in receivership last March, the company lost nearly 1.200 jobs due to the lack of a buyer for all of its operations.
The new owner plans to initially relaunch Alinéa's website. In the longer term, he is considering creating a network of franchised stores to restore a physical presence to the brand, which disappeared from the retail landscape after 36 years in existence.
A relaunch focused on brand identity
Present in France primarily through major online marketplaces, Aosom affirms its commitment to preserving Alinéa's identity. While some products will continue to be manufactured in China, the group insists on maintaining a French and European offering, true to the Mediterranean positioning that has built the brand's reputation.
Based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, MH France employs 130 people, has four warehouses in central France and generated a turnover of 140 million euros in 2025. Its director, Emmanuel Benichou, explains that this acquisition is part of a development strategy through the acquisition of recognized French brands in the home furnishings sector.
