The partially burned body discovered on August 12 in a vineyard in Saint-Gilles, in the Gard region, could be that of influencer Sonia Bellina. The Nîmes prosecutor's office considers this hypothesis likely, but official identification still depends on the results of DNA tests expected on Friday. An autopsy is also scheduled for Thursday.
The body was discovered at dawn by a farm worker between several rows of vines. A murder investigation was immediately opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie and the Gard research section. Sonia Bellina, 29 years old and followed by nearly 260,000 people on TikTok, had not been seen or heard from since August 10th.
The family denounces the online rumors
The young woman's sister claims that Sonia Bellina went out one evening and never returned. She also mentioned the presence of breast implants and a ring that could match those of the missing woman. However, these details have not been confirmed by investigators, who are urging caution pending the results of forensic examinations.
The family, facing numerous rumors and abusive comments on social media, has announced legal action. Reports will be sent to the relevant platforms as well as to Pharos, and several complaints may be filed. The family's lawyer points out that the subsequent removal of the offending posts will not prevent potential legal proceedings. At this stage, no information has been released regarding the circumstances of the death or the identity of any potential suspects.
