"Especially since you're traveling in business class": Olivier Benkemoun corrects Radouan Kourak on CNews

On CNews this Friday, Radouan Kourak strongly criticized the cost of transportation in France, in a context of soaring fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East. Citing the examples of Islamabad (Pakistan) and Istanbul (Turkey), where public transportation has been made free to address the crisis, he denounced the "lack of political will" in France, specifically pointing to the price of an adult Navigo pass in the Île-de-France region, which is close to 100 euros.

To illustrate his point, Radouan Kourak recounted a personal experience, explaining that he paid only 14 euros for a flight between Malta and Rome, compared to 16 euros for a simple trip between Gare de Lyon and Orly airport. "It's easier and cheaper to take a 15-hour flight on an international route than a 15-minute metro ride in Paris," he declared, denouncing a system that, in his view, has become absurd, inconsistent, and detrimental to the French.

But the demonstration was quickly interrupted by presenter Olivier Benkemoun, who replied humorously: "But you, Radouan Kourak, you fly business class!"A remark that triggered hilarity on set, tempering the criticism and offering a moment of levity in the midst of a debate on purchasing power.
