Arthur Jugnot wrote and directed "Tout feu tout flamme" (All Fire and Flame), a musical comedy that humorously reinterprets the figure of Joan of Arc, opening at the Comédie de Paris on August 26. The show features an original score by Romain Trouillet and a cast of five performers.

An almost true story of the Maid of Orléans

Far from the classic historical narrative of the young shepherdess from Domrémy who liberated France from the English before crowning Charles VII, the show imagines a Joan of Arc who hears not voices, but songs. The offbeat script follows in the footsteps of parodic musicals like Spamalot or Les Producteurs, transposed to the more intimate setting of a modestly sized Parisian theater.

On stage, Pierre Bénézit, Zoé Bidaud, Victor Bourigault, Sara Sousa and Djamel Mehnane share the roles in this reinterpretation which mixes tap dancing, song numbers and touches of humor, even evoking, according to the promise of the show, a few somersaults.

A historic venue dedicated to humor and comedy

The Comédie de Paris, a venue in the 9th arrondissement inaugurated in 1929 under the name Menus Plaisirs, has had several lives, from cabaret to a high place of Parisian humor under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Bigard until 2022. It is now run by a collective including Arthur Jugnot himself.

Performances of Tout feu tout flamme are scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday at 19 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday at 15 p.m., for an initial series of dates running until the beginning of January 2027.
