Aube: Two investigations opened after a free party turned tragic

A 25-year-old man was found dead on Sunday after a free party held in a field in Ortillon, about 30 kilometers north of Troyes. Approximately 150 people attended the gathering during the night of Saturday to Sunday, with no particular incidents reported.

The body was discovered around 15:45 p.m. on a grassy path at the edge of the forest. The autopsy concluded that the skull had been crushed, likely by a passing vehicle. A photograph taken by the police during the festival confirms that the victim had attended the gathering.

A second participant is between life and death

Another man, in his thirties, was seriously injured after being hit by a car the same night. The victim, who had reportedly consumed alcohol and drugs, was hospitalized in Troyes before being transferred to Reims. He was in a coma and his condition was critical.

Two separate investigations have been opened for manslaughter and involuntary injury. The dark-colored vehicle involved in the second accident reportedly fled the scene. The Aube gendarmerie has issued an appeal for witnesses to accurately reconstruct the events and identify those involved.
