The change in weather is confirmed this Saturday with the passage of an active cold front across the country from west to east. Showers will gradually become widespread throughout the day, first along the Atlantic coast in the morning, then moving towards the central regions before reaching the eastern areas by the end of the day. Some rainfall may be locally heavy, particularly between the Atlantic coast and the central regions.
In the evening, there is a risk of thunderstorms across parts of eastern France, from the central regions to Burgundy and Franche-Comté. This instability, linked to the arrival of colder air aloft, may bring heavy showers and gusts of wind, although these phenomena will remain largely scattered.
A direct consequence of this weather system is a sharp drop in temperatures after several very mild days. It feels cooler, accentuated by the wind and rain. However, the sun manages to hold out temporarily in the east and especially in the southeast, particularly near the French Riviera, while sunny spells quickly return behind the front towards Brittany in the afternoon.
