Weather: Rain and wind return this Wednesday to much of the country

After a temporary lull on Tuesday, the weather will deteriorate again from the north on Wednesday with the return of rain and showers in cool, windy conditions. The first precipitation will affect the regions between Normandy and Nord-Pas-de-Calais in the morning before spreading to Centre-Val de Loire, the Paris Basin, and the northeastern regions in the afternoon. A few showers will also move through the southwest and near the Mercantour National Park, but rainfall totals will generally remain light.

The sun will hold out longer between the Alps, the PACA region, and Corsica, where the clear spells will be most generous. Elsewhere, sunshine will remain limited, although the west-central region will still enjoy some brighter periods between Nantes, Bordeaux, and Limoges.

Temperatures will remain cool for this time of year, often 2 to 4°C below the mid-May average. The southeast will be an exception, with temperatures more in line with the usual standards for this period.
