A new weather system will move across France on Tuesday, bringing damp and sometimes rainy conditions to much of the northern half of the country. Umbrellas will remain essential between Brittany, Normandy, Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, and as far south as Champagne-Ardenne. The heaviest rainfall is expected between Normandy and Hauts-de-France, with up to 10 mm of precipitation possible throughout the day.
Regions south of a line running from Arcachon to Colmar will be largely spared from this deterioration in the weather. A few showers may occur locally, but overall conditions will remain drier and more pleasant than in the north of the country.
The sun will hold out, especially in the far south, with plenty of sunshine expected between the southwest, the Mediterranean coast, and Corsica. Cities like Biarritz, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice, and Ajaccio will enjoy several hours of sunshine despite some passing clouds.
