The deterioration in weather that began on Saturday will become widespread on Sunday, with very unsettled conditions across much of the country. Under the influence of an Atlantic low-pressure system moving northward with a southerly flow, rain, showers, and thunderstorms will affect nearly three-quarters of France. Outdoor activities will be severely disrupted in many regions.
The heaviest rainfall is expected in Brittany, the southern Massif Central, the Rhône Valley, and parts of the Rhône-Alpes region, with up to 30 mm locally. The most active thunderstorms will hit the southeast in the morning before gradually spreading to other regions in the afternoon. In the southwest, another wave of thunderstorms could develop between the Pyrenees, Aquitaine, and the Massif Central, with a risk of hail.
Temperatures will remain mild in the morning due to cloud cover, but will drop significantly in the afternoon. Highs will fall by up to 5°C compared to the previous day, ending the summery conditions seen on Saturday.
