The heat continues to dominate across much of France this Sunday, with near-heatwave conditions in some areas. After a very mild morning, temperatures will climb rapidly throughout the day, exceeding 30°C across three-quarters of the country. The southwest will remain the hottest region, with highs expected to reach 35°C in Aquitaine.
This unseasonably warm air mass will maintain temperatures well above normal, creating a very summery atmosphere from morning to night. In many regions, it will feel more like mid-July than late May.
Meanwhile, there is a risk of thunderstorms developing in the late afternoon over the Pyrenees, the Cévennes, and the southern Alps. These storm cells, although isolated, could sometimes be severe before a rapid lull expected from mid-evening onwards.
