US forces attacked an Iranian oil tanker anchored near Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf for the second time in two days, according to an Iranian official.
The empty oil tanker Belma NI22, already hit two days earlier, suffered another strike today. "The empty oil tanker Belma NI22, which was hit two days ago, was attacked again today by two American missiles," the deputy governor of Bushehr told the Iranian Fars news agency.
Kharg Island, located in the Persian Gulf, houses the majority of Iran's oil export infrastructure. The repeated strike on the same vessel within 48 hours marks a significant escalation of US military operations against Iranian targets in the region.
