New Russian airstrikes in Ukraine: four dead, including a child, and several wounded

New Russian attacks carried out overnight Thursday to Friday left at least four dead and ten wounded in Ukraine, according to local authorities. The Sumy and Kryvyi Rih regions were among the hardest hit.

In the border region of Sumy, a Russian drone struck a house, killing two women, an elderly man, and a girl under two years old. Three other people were injured, said Oleh Hryhorov, head of the regional military administration.

In Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of the Ukrainian president Volodymyr ZelenskyA Russian missile strike hit a densely populated urban area. According to local authorities, seven people were injured in the attack.

These new strikes come as Ukraine continues to suffer regular shelling in several regions of the country. Ukrainian authorities are continuing rescue operations and assessing the damage caused by the attacks.

In addition, a day of mourning is being observed this Friday in Kyiv following a previous Russian attack that left at least three victims in the capital, illustrating the continuation of violence despite international calls for a ceasefire.
