A thousand people demonstrate their support for Ukraine in Paris

Around a thousand demonstrators gathered in Paris on Saturday to express their solidarity with Ukraine, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of February 24, 2022. The procession denounced the bombings and called in particular for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Kyiv.

MEP Raphaël Glucksmann believes that French public support for Ukraine has remained strong since the beginning of the conflict. However, he noted some disagreements within the political class, where some voices are advocating for a shift in the French position.

Testimonies and community mobilization

Among the participants, Ukrainian nationals spoke to recount the situation on the ground. Some mentioned the ongoing difficulties related to the bombings, particularly the power and heating outages.

Representatives of humanitarian organizations were also present. The NGO Medical Aid Ukraine indicated that it was continuing its operations, including the delivery of generators, in a country where the conflict has caused heavy loss of life and significant material damage. Russia now controls nearly 20% of Ukrainian territory, according to Kyiv authorities.
