Cassandre Beaugrand breaks the French record for the 10km road race

Cassandre Beaugrand continues to impress beyond the pool and the bike. The gold medalist in the triathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games reached a new milestone on Saturday, April 4th in Lille, by shattering the French record for the 10-kilometer road race. The 27-year-old triathlete improved the national mark by eight seconds, confirming her meteoric rise in pure running.

Progress confirmed after Nice

This performance is part of a series of athletic successes for the champion. A few months earlier, last May at the ASPTT Nice Côte d'Azur meet, Beaugrand had already won the 5000 meters on the track in 14'40"77, setting another French record. These results demonstrate her ability to excel beyond her preferred discipline, relying on exceptional speed and endurance developed in triathlon.

The Saint-Étienne native demonstrates that the skills acquired in combined events can translate into top-level performances in pure athletics. Her versatility and dedication to training now allow her to compete with running specialists. This dual expertise could open new sporting opportunities for the athlete who made her mark on the French Olympic summer.
