As the 2025 Tour de France begins on July 5, Leclerc is planning to make a splash by recruiting a driver for a rather unusual vehicle: a giant leek bundle on four wheels. Built on a Renault Zoé, this six-meter-long, 2,6-meter-wide replica stands alongside the traditional “star vegetables” of the publicity caravan—melon, strawberry, and apple—and is already claiming to be the “most noticed and most Instagrammed racing car” in the peloton, according to Michel-Édouard Leclerc himself.
A tailor-made mission
The future driver of this “rolling leek” will take his or her place behind the wheel from June 30th, to accompany the caravan on all the French stages until July 28th. Among the highlights of the route, the 20th stage will take the caravaners from Nantua to Pontarlier, in the Jura, on Saturday July 26th: an ideal playground to thrill fans of both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Beyond simple driving, Leclerc is looking for a profile capable of bringing the experience to life in the heart of the crowds: communicative energy, team spirit and good presentation are all assets to liven up the goodies distribution areas, launch a call for healthy snacks or respond to the thousands of spontaneous photographers who will not fail to snap the XXL vegetable.
A casting not to be missed
On the technical side, a B license held for at least three years remains essential, as does excellent physical condition: driving six hours a day in a setting that is both imposing and fragile requires vigilance and endurance.
