Anthropic claims an advantage over OpenAI in annualized revenue

The American startup Anthropic, creator of the Claude artificial intelligence model, claims to have surpassed its competitor OpenAI for the first time in terms of annualized revenue. The company cites projected revenues of over $30 billion, a significant increase in recent months.

This growth is based on very rapid expansion, with revenues tripling in a single quarter. By comparison, OpenAI has an annualized growth rate of approximately $24 billion, driven in particular by the mainstream success of ChatGPT.

An expansion driven by professional uses

Anthropic is particularly benefiting from the development of enterprise tools, with over 1.000 clients each generating more than one million dollars in annualized revenue. This momentum illustrates the growing adoption of artificial intelligence in professional applications.

Both groups remain heavily loss-making due to the massive investments required for infrastructure development. Anthropic, in particular, plans to increase its computing capacity in the United States in the coming years, amid intense competition and growing debates surrounding the rise of AI.
